Building blocks of the journey game

Welcome to your guide to the key building blocks of the journey game: Disciplines, Levels, Challenges, Tasks and Rewards.

Disciplines

Disciplines are the key areas your team and organization are aiming to enhance and excel in. These are broad categories, like DevOps, Agile, and Architecture, and they reflect the core competencies in your transformation. Disciplines can be thought of as the ultimate goals or the finish lines that your team is striving towards.

Levels

Each Discipline is further broken down into Levels. Levels represent the stages of proficiency within each Discipline. They serve as milestones on your team's journey to achieve mastery in a Discipline. As your team advances through these Levels, they demonstrate an increasing depth of knowledge and practical expertise in the specific Discipline.

Challenges

Challenges are the set of actions or achievements within each Level that your team needs to accomplish. These could range from creating a customer journey map to solving a complex problem or writing documentation. Completing Challenges is a direct reflection of the team's progress in completing the Level.

Tasks

Tasks are the individual actions or steps that make up each Challenge. They represent the most granular level of work that needs to be done. Each Task is an actionable, tangible to-do that brings the team one step closer to completing the Challenge. By finishing Tasks, the team earns Reward Points. When all Tasks within a Challenge are completed, the Challenge is automatically marked as done.

Reward points

Reward Points are the incentive system of the product. They are earned upon completion of Tasks and serve as a recognition of the team's efforts. The number of reward points earned are determining your place on the leaderboard. Depending on the settings of your organization the points can be used in the shop purchase rewards.

Remember, the journey through Disciplines, Levels, Challenges, and Tasks is not just about completion but also about learning, growth, and maturity of your team as a unit. This journey can significantly enhance your team's skills, understanding, and proficiency in critical areas, propelling your team towards high performance.
